Dogs with choosy eating habits often are referred to as “finicky.” But according to the folks at Purina (The Dog Chow people), dogs learn this behavior - usually at the hands of their owners.
While humans need a varied diet to ensure proper nutrition, dogs do not need constant variety or table scraps if they are fed complete, balanced diets appropriate to their life stages, say many pet nutritionists. It’s a little known fact that grapes and raisins are toxic to dogs
“Chumley was a rascally guy. He had a mind of his own,” said Seth Silverton, Chumley’s guardian in Rockland, Maine.
