Living in Florida, Makena and I have been spending the long hot summer days indoors and sneaking out for local dog friendly adventures early in the AM and for sunset and late night walks…following the universal seasons and enjoying every minute of it!
Makena loves all dog travel adventures no matter how big or small…as long as he’s feeling healthy he always seems to find a piece of heaven no matter where he is…like the top of this seaside rock in Palm Harbor at Crystal Beach. This small community beach is open to the public and well behaved, well manned dogs under voice command are allowed to roam off leash. Please make sure you follow close to your pooch and pick-up after them right away. The locals here take pride in keeping a clean dog friendly leash free beach open to the public, so please take responsibility for your pet if you visit this beautiful doggie haven. Provided at the beach are doggie pick-up bags, trash cans and a watering fountain with dog water bowl. They even have a new Doggie Yoga class…call phone number on photo below for details.
The beach is located on the Gulf of Mexico at the very west end of Crystal Beach Ave (just south of Alderman Rd). Turn towards the Gulf of Mexico off of Alt. 19 and drive straight and you you’ll be there in no time.
